Named after Ir. H. Djuanda

The name of this forest park was taken from an Indonesian national hero; Ir. H. Djuanda. He was the last Indonesian Prime Minister, before the state constitution was eventually amended. Djuanda was praised for the declaration he made on December 13, 1957; ensuring that Indonesia had sovereignty over its own sea. The naming of the forest park is one of the appreciation given for him.

Administratively, the Tahura Djuanda is in Pakar hamlet, Ciburial village, Cimenyan district, Bandung. Overall, Tahura Djuanda sits at an altitude of 770 to 1330 above sea level. The park has a total area of around 590 hectares, stretching from the Maribaya Lembang area to Dago Pakar. Because of its size, this park has several gates and access points.

There are two main gates that you can go to enter Forest Park. The first one is in the Pakar area, Dago. Access to this Gate is very easy with good roads. Because of its proximity to the city of Bandung, this gate is the most popular for tourists.

The second one is in the Maribaya Lembang area. The road to the gate is also very good, and you can access it easily from tourist attractions in Lembang.

There are many tourist points that you can visit in this forest area. There are two caves made by the Dutch and Japanese colonial governments, which were used as a secret military base. Furthermore, there are several small waterfalls that are refreshing, the most popular one is Curug Omas.
